Is Spring Recess still happening as planned? Is the school year being extended to accommodate make-up days? What is Canyons doing to support at-home learning? The dismissal of all 50 CSD schools and programs as a preemptive measure to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 has generated a lot of questions, and it’s important that families know where they can go for timely information they can trust. Canyons District has created a web portal where students, parents and employees can find the latest announcements and developments. Government guidelines are changing rapidly, and we’ll updating our community on a regular basis, so please bookmark this link for future reference. The Canyons Board of Education and Administration wish to express appreciation for the community’s support and efforts and diligence of our employees as we pull together to keep our communities healthy and safe.
Do Your Kids Need Lunch?
Canyons District will provide free lunchtime meals to students during the two-week dismissal of Canyons schools. The dismissal was decided Friday afternoon by local and state education and health authorities who are working hard to stem the spread of COVID-19 in Utah communities.
Every regular school day from March 16-27, all students under the age of 18 can get sack lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the following locations close to Edgemont.
- Bell View Elementary, 9800 S. 800 East
- Eastmont Middle, 10100 S. 1300 East
- Jordan High, 95 E. Beetdigger Blvd.
Participating students will be guided to the cafeteria where they will be able to get a grab-and-go lunch. As all Utah public schools are dismissed from the buildings for the two-week period, students will not be able remain in the lunchroom to eat their meals. They will need to leave the building after being provided their meal.
Labels will be affixed to the sacks of the food contain peanuts or tree nuts.
During the 14-school-day hiatus of regular school operations, the previously published menu has been cancelled.
Breakfast will NOT be served.

Hello Edgemont Families,
We missed all of our Edgemont Eagles today. Thank you for your continued patience and kindness through this challenging time. Canyons School District’s and Edgemont’s number one priority is the health and well-being of our students, families and staff.
As of this evening, the plan is that the Instructional Supports Department in Canyons School District will post home learning resources on our school website (edgemont.canyonsdistrict.org) by this Wednesday, March 18th. It is recommended that all families access these resources online. Anyone who absolutely needs hard copies of home learning resources may come to Edgemont Elementary Wednesday, March 18thbetween 9am and 3pm. The inside of the building will be closed to patrons. We plan to have hard copies of packets ready to be picked up at our “Green Zone” arrival and dismissal area so nobody even gets out of their cars!
We will keep you updated of any changes.
