At the outset of 2018, the Board of Education and Administration invite you to resolve to express appreciation to the teachers in Canyons District who are educating the next generation of community leaders, artists, technology whizzes and entrepreneurs. You can do this by submitting a nomination for the 2018 Canyons District Teacher of the Year.

Progress Reports

Posted in News & Announcements

January 18th marked the middle of term 2!  Look for mid-term progress reports coming home between January 22nd and February 2nd.  Grade levels will send home progress reports on different days within that date range depending on when their mid-term assessments are complete.  This does not apply to ACC students as their progress and IEP goals will be shared during conferences.  Parent/Teacher conferences are February 28th and March 1st.  This mid-term progress report is intended to give you a quick summary of how your student is performing prior to conferences.  We encourage you to look over the mid-term report carefully and contact your student's teacher prior to conferences with any questions or concerns.

A big thank you to the Work-Based Learning Department for connecting our students and the classrooms to our community!B94F3CF3-3458-4287-A971-798D37CC4374.JPG
We had many parents come and share their unique jobs and the tools they used with students throughout the school. Some jobs included: Firefighter, Pilot, Law Enforcement, Smelter, Neuro Kinesiologist, Product Developer, Social Worker, Chiropractor, and an Enviromental Scientist.

Chris Heaton (below) referenced our school wide comprehension strategies while in Mrs. Avila's classroom.  He shared how he uses schema, inferring, questioning, visualizing, determining importance and summarizing/synthesizing in his finance career! It was so exciting to have an adult from our community reinforce the importance of comprehension skills we practice daily at Edgemont.
