We want to thank our teachers for all they do for the students at Edgemont!  Join in the celebration by participating in the events below:

Monday: What is your teacher’s superpower?  Write it on a star (provided at the school) and add it to their door poster! (We will have a bag of paper star and a “cape” on your door

Tuesday: Be your teacher’s sidekick and wear their favorite color!

Wednesday: Our teachers and staff are super sweet! Write a note thanking someone on the Edgemont staff and add it to our banner. The banner will be just outside the break room.

Thursday: Help supercharge your teacher’s classroom and bring in a classroom supply! (optional)

Friday: Have your parents write a thank you note to your teacher. We will have a special paper to write your own thank you note for your teacher during class time.

Teacher of the Year 2016

Congratulations to Mrs. Carolyn Criddle for being named Edgemont Elementary's Teacher of the Year!!

Carolyn cherishes and supports students.  She is an accomplished educator with an ESL endorsement, HYPE certification, and is currently working toward her Technology endorsement.  Carolyn believes all children can learn.  She sets high expectations, provides high-quality instruction, and creates a positive learning environment.  Her commitment to nurturing the whole child is evident as she consistently reinforces each student's academic and behavioral accomplishments, and  celebrates cultural diversity.  Carolyn currently serves on the Building Leadership Team and provides invaluable insight about ways to help increase student achievement at all levels of instruction.  She leads discussions and initiatives that build and maintain a positive school climate.  Carolyn is an implementer.  She takes what she learns from professional development and effectively incorporates it into her instruction.  Carolyn has a growth mindset.  She learns from her experiences and supports her students in doing the same.  She encourages learners to do their best and always give a strong effort.  When students make mistakes, her calm demeanor reassures them that growth comes from mistakes.  Carolyn believes in her students, and has taught her students to believe in themselves!
