Edgemont's Family Fun Run is coming!!
Fundraising envelopes went home with all Edgemont students Friday, September 11th to raise funds for our Family Fun Run Event.  All students and staff will participate in a one mile run/walk around our neighborhood streets on Thursday, September 25th.   Parents are invited to volunteer with our PTA to help support this wonderful school event (please visit www.eepta.org).  Parents are also invited to join their student/s during the Fun Run by exercising right alongside them during the event.  Come out, support our school, run our neighborhood streets, and join our fitness/healthy living celebration.

Our PTA has planned some GREAT PRIZES for top fundraising students this year:
Top 8 students= LIMO RIDE and lunch with Principal Schino!
Top Class= Pizza Party!
Anyone raising $25= Edgemont Necklace with Sky (our Eagle) on it!

Thank you for supporting Edgemont Elementary and Edgemont's PTA by participating in our Family Fun Run event.

It is time for our PTA sponsored Reflections program!  All Edgemont students are encouraged to express themselves creatively by submitting a project that showcases their talents.  This year's theme is "Let Your Imagination Fly..."  Students can enter multiple categories, but all work must originate from the student.  No parent help!

Look for an e-flyer with information on peachjar soon.

Entry forms are available in the front office or click here( Entry Form) to complete electronically.  All completed projects with entry form must be submitted to Edgemont's front office by October 21st.  Mark your calendars!imagination-fly.png

September's Principal Message

Posted in News & Announcements

Hello Edgemont Families,
I am thrilled to be back at Edgemont for my second year as principal.  I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe summer break.  Now that school is in session, our students are getting back into important school routines.  Students have already participated in Eagle Days.  Eagle Days celebrate our school wide positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) by teaching everyone behavior expectations around the building.  Students are explicitly taught how to receive positive recognition from adults by demonstrating behaviors such as being Safe, On task, Accepting responsibility, and Respecting themselves, others and school property.   Please visit the "Our School" tab on our website to view Edgemont's behavior expectations posters!

I am so proud of what our Edgemont students and staff accomplished last year.  Our Building Leadership Team (BLT) and School Community Council (SCC) have created and approved this year's Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) that focuses on increased student acheivement.  Edgemont's 2015-2016 Literacy CSIP goals are:

As you can see, we have rigorous plans to increase student acheivement this year!  It is so important that your student stays healthy, comes to school and arrives on time so he/she can maximize instructional time at Edgemont.

Here's to a great school year with happy students who are having fun being successful!
