Skylert – August 29, 2021

Dear Families,

We just wrapped up our second week of school and things are running smoothly! Arrival and dismissal routines are working well. Recess and lunch transitions are quick and most kinks have been worked out. I had the opportunity to read a story to each class today and share a bit about myself with students. I told each class that I am here to help them celebrate their accomplishments, help them if they’re having a hard day, and to help them figure out how to fix mistakes. I think we have an absolutely wonderful student body and I’m excited to continue getting to know your students.

Edgemont’s School Community Council (SCC) information is updated on our school website edgemont.canyonsdistrict.org. The school community council is charged with making school plans, allocating funds, reviewing safety, and more. A full description of the SCC’s duties are available here https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/scc/ . You are welcome to contact me or an SCC member if you have a concern you’d like to discuss. Monthly meeting dates are also posted online. All meetings are open to the public. Agendas will be posted one week in advance. Contact Erica Fish, our SCC Chair to add items to the agenda.

Canyons School District is partnering with Comcast to provide free internet to families in need. Look for a postcard in the mail and please feel free to call the office for more information.

Superintendent Robins is on a listening tour to hear feedback from all patrons. See the attached flyer for more information. He would truly love to hear from you and talk with you.
